GVB transportation card
The GVB is the transportation company in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. The before situation was that the door of the tram could be opened easily and with a more or less standard key people could operate the tram. Losing a key could implicate that an unauthorized human being could open and drive the tram. The aim of the project was to grant access and start the tram Combino by employing modern card technologies.

ScreenCheck has chosen to implement its Card Management System (CMS) and created a link with the central Combino computer. To reprogram the employee cards, ScreenCheck also delivered a complete range of hardware products and related software interfaces for data collection and processing from the Combino computer, intelligent card readers, card printers, etc.
|
Functionalities are supported through the CMS:
• connection with the central server
• card holder record adjustment and image capture
• security by separate reading/mutation keys
• different keys for each encoding field in the card
• to control the card reader for the card personalization
• card encoding and printing in one run
• extensive database search functions
• generating management reports with information on card statuses, etc.
• etc.
