The Dutch TV program Moderne Zorg that is broadcasted every Sunday morning in May features the modern technologies and solutions applied by healthcare institutions. ScreenCheck Europe has participated in this program together with its technology partner Straight Systems.

The focus of the broadcasting of Sunday May 17th has been on intelligent payment systems; such as self-service cash registers that are used in the personnel restaurant in the Antonius hospital in Sneek (NL). Employees use a smart card to pay for their food and drinks at the advanced self service cash register. Waiting times and costs are reduced and opening hours can be much more flexible.

Another revolutionary development in the payment solution field that has been outlined during the program is intelligent porcelain. Chips are implemented in the china-ware so food and drinks can be paid with no price labelling or cashier required.
